TutorClik is a platform that connects students who want to get 1-1 help by finding the right tutor for their course with tutors who want a hassle free way to get paid.

Who are your tutors?

Our tutors are peer undergraduate students, graduate students, professional tutors, and professional teachers.

Where is TutorClik available?

TutorClik is currently available at the University of Calgary. If you would like us to expand to your school, please let us know at info@tutorclik.com

Can I speak with someone at TutorClik?

Does TutorClik protect my privacy?

Canceling a session

If you need to cancel a session with your tutor, you must do so 24 hours in advance. If you cancel within 24 hours, the session will be charged half the amount as initially booked. In order to cancel a session you must notify your tutor and cancel through the platform.

How does TutorClik work?

Search through our list of courses based on your needs, search through our list of high quality tutors, contact and schedule a session with your tutor, and rate your tutor after everything is finished.

How much do your tutors cost?

Session prices vary depending on city, course needed, and length of tutoring engagement. Tutors can set their own rates, however TutorClik's rates are competitive and our large tutor base allows you to find a tutor that fits your budget

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place in students' homes, libraries, dorm rooms, and coffee shops. The location of your session can be decided beforehand through our chat.

What if I'm not happy with my tutor?

If you are not completely satisfied with your first session, TutorClik will gladly find you another tutor or help resolve the issue. Contact us within 24 hours after your initial session to request support.

How do I book a session?

All sessions are booked through our online platform, through the Tutor's profile page.

I need instruction in a course that you do not seem to offer. What do I do?

If your search comes up empty, don’t worry. Email us at info@tutorclik.com or go to "contact us" page and we will add the course into our catalogue.

What if I book a tutor, and I don't hear back from him or her?

We do everything we can to keep our database up-to-date and prevent this from happening. However, if this does occur, please let us know right away and we will make sure you get all the help you need to straighten out the situation. There is a good chance that there is another tutor available to help and we will do our best to put you touch with a qualified tutor as soon as possible.

Can I speak with the tutor before I book the session?

Yes, you can message your tutor through our live messaging system.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payments from Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. You also have the option to pay with a debit Visa card. We do not accept payment by cash or check.

Is payment required prior to meeting with a tutor?

Yes. We collect credit card info in order to put you in touch with your tutor.

Will I ever have to pay the tutor directly?

No. TutorClik remits funds to our tutors after each session. Tutors are not allowed to collect funds directly from the client.

Why should I offer my services on TutorClik?

TutorClik helps tutors supplement their income by providing a network of students in need of high quality tutoring. TutorClik markets your skills and helps you build a customer base so you can focus on what you do best: teaching.

How do I create a profile?

Following the sign up page to create your profile, or enabling your tutoring profile through the setting page.

How much does it cost to sign up as a tutor?

Free. It is free to sign up as a tutor on TutorClik. To become a verified tutor, you will need to upload your credentials or have a quick phone/in-person interview with TutorClik staff.

What are some valid credentials I can upload?

You can upload your unofficial transcript, a degree certificate or anything you think that will prove your competence

How do I add or remove courses?

Simply search and add or delete them in the courses box in the Edit Profile page.

How do I schedule sessions?

Our platform will help you schedule your sessions through the TutorClik interface.

What if I cannot make to any of student's appointment request time?

Student's appointment request is made base on your availability, so make sure you update your availability information in advance. When you find that you can not meet student's request time, please contact your student right away and make arrangements with them.

Once I find a client, do I just show up and tutor?

It is your responsibility to take whatever steps necessary to make sure that you deliver a great experience for the student. Discuss some of the details with the student in advance of the session so you are ready to help make a difference from the very first session.

How do I prepare for a tutoring session?

This is up to you, but we do have several suggestions. First, talk to the student in advance of the session. If time permits, try to obtain a copy of the relevant textbook, course syllabus, etc. Second, try to get repeat business! The hardest tutoring session to prepare for is the first one with a new customer. For follow-up tutoring sessions, you will know exactly what's expected and preparation will be easier.

How much will I be paid?

You set your own tutoring rate, and TutorClik only takes 15-25% of that as service charges to keep the platform operational.

How does payment work?

TutorClik acts as a secured party and accepts payments on behalf of the tutor and remits funds to the tutor after a session by depositing them into your bank account. Tutors are not permitted to accept cash from a parent or student.

Am I permitted to exchange cash or form of payments with a student outside of the TutorClik platform?

No, all payments are processed by TutoClik. If the customer offers you compensation for travel or you would like to change the hourly rate for any reason, that's fine. However, any changes in pricing or compensation for travel must be made prior to the session, it is prohibited to do it at the time of the session.

What is the commission structure?

TutorClik takes a 15-25% commission of your posted hourly rate. The amount depends on how many hours of tutoring has done by the tutor on our platform. Your hourly rate is set by you and may be changed at any time. Of the remaining portion of the fee, TutorClik invests in marketing and software development to provide a better platform for students and tutors

How do I get paid?

We will deposit the fund into your bank account as soon as the student rate and reviews the tutoring session, or 48 hours after a session has taken place.

What are the contract details I need to know?

Working with TutorClik is non-exclusive. That means you can still work for other companies or find students on your own. And all tutors are independent contractors hired by students, tutors have no employment agreement with TutorClik. Having TutorClik students to pay you on the side violates the tutor contract and will result in a tutor removed from the TutorClik community.
